Our puncture resistant, unique kp Monolayer rigid HDPE films are the perfect answer for your applications requiring intense heat treatment – from blast freezing to heat treatment for pasteurisation (-40° to 121°C!). They are also suitable for re-usable trays; carefully designed to be washed for re-use more than 60 times*.
They are recyclable in the PE post-consumer recycling stream bringing our customers improved sustainability credentials compared to PP and PS materials.
Suitable for a variety of lidding films, kp Monolayer HDPE rigid films trays combine perfectly with our fully recyclable barrier top lidding film – kp FlexiLid® EH 145 R. It’s certified by Interseroh and cyclos-HTP and designed following Ceflex guidelines for D4ACE PE mechanical recycling.

Frequently asked questions
Can kp Monolayer HDPE seal to standard PE lidding films?
Absolutely. Our rigid films can be sealed to most commercially available PE sealing films.
Is kp Monolayer HDPE transparent?
Like all standard PE rigid films, it has a slightly frosty appearance.
Does it have an oxygen barrier?
No. As a monolayer PE film, it does not have an oxygen barrier.
Can you supply preformed trays as well as rigid kp Monolayer HDPE films?
We can provide trays with certain dimensions. If we don’t currently supply the size you are looking for, we can evaluate new tooling based on your volume requirements. Please ask your sales representative or request a sales call.

What makes your kp Monolayer HDPE films unique?
All kp products are manufactured to very high-quality level. kp Monolayer HDPE is manufactured in our site in Girona according to ISO9001 and BRC standards.
Will kp Monolayer HDPE work with my existing machines?
Kp Monolayer HDPE can be thermoformed under similar conditions to PP thermoforming. It requires pre-heaters and is not recommended for Form, Fill and Seal applications unless the line has been designed to work with polypropylene.
What’s the difference between HDPE and PE?
HDPE is a type of polyethylene with a linear structure. Since its molecules are packed together tightly, HDPE is an incredibly strong polyethylene with high tensile strength, rigidity, and impact resistance. This rigidity means it is also suitable for an extremely wide range of temperatures – unlike low density.
A key benefit to HDPE is its recyclability and reusability.
